🤗
Thank you so much for the tips. I will use them in my next match 😊
I wanted to your opinion on something which has really helped me solve the problem of being late on the forehand. On the unit turn the left hand stays on the racquet as you are turning. My issue l believe was that l was letting go of the racquet too quickly with my left hand which stops the coil and was causing me to be late. I saw a really good video which said not only to keep the left hand on longer but allow it to actually help start the forward swing before you release it. I did this and it solved my issue. I am no longer late on the forehand. I believe this something that pros with great forehands do but it happens so fast it's missed. What are your thoughts, this seems to work.
I like that. Great idea. I teach something similar on the one hander. Thanks!!!
this is great!!!
Thanks so much!!!
Looks like the app needs an invite code? Strange
Hi Ryan, quick question regarding the dominant arm forearm. Prior to serving, during warm-up hitting simple forehands or backhands, I notice a "stretch" in the forearm muscle once I start moving my feet, and then after that stretch I see that my serve changes from the "waiter tray" serve to what I perceive as the correct serve motion, including achieving what I perceive as the correct continental grip. I am curious if you have noticed this "stretch" when you warm-up?
Great tip(s) 👍🏻
Thank you so much Abare

Well timed on the "hit the like button" graphic, haha
Haha thanks so much!!
Thank goodness they don't call "hip" or "butt cheek" faults! 😂😂
Haha true
BUTT someone should make that a rule!
Thanks, your heel pivot, and butt observation are really good advice
Thanks so much!!!
That is really important but it’s also good to remember to toss along the line which also gives a natural coil
That should also work for a platform server, correct?
Yes. But it’s more prominent on the pinpoint. Thanks Jeff!
When she won us open she had bigger smooth loop forehand, compared to newly formed smaller ATP loop with moment stop befoe accelerating. So called famous coach has ruined her forehand and her wrist just can not handle this short burst acceleration, injury will be inevitable.
Appreciate your thoughts!
Excellent observation. Well done, sir.
Thanks so much!!!
@@2MinuteTennis i have gone out on the court to "test drive" the hip maneuver and it felt really bad - so i only did it for 30 seconds. this answers so many questions.
@@amazotron3471 yep. People are hurting themselves trying the wrong action. This action taught in the video will give you better results and prevent injury. Thanks!!

LOL
Thanks, Ryan; I really like how very exacting you are with your observations and resultant recommendations….
Appreciate the support!
Ahh you had me for a moment. You’re right, the butt in the court is much better than the hip for coiling and rotation. But both are essentially better than nothing. Nice vids Ryan
Just the hip sticking out increases injury risk according to Kovacs.
@@marktace1 well he might have, but he still recommends it in his videos with FYB. As long as you have your weight on your back leg. He says tossing too far left and too far in front causes lots of injuries (especialy for the back)

Should his back foot tuck in behind his front foot instead of in front of it to help keep his hips & knees and chest rotated back?
Yes. But what I taught him in this video will fix the issue you brought up automatically. Thanks!!
I was toying around with a forehand grip on the serve the other day. It went flying out to the right, way past the sideline. I thought if I could harness it somehow, it could be a doomsday weapon for me. I didn't realise it was already a thing, called the Pancake serve. Now I'm really keen to work on it.
yoo trainer i can bet my car and offeelr you do same by you if i beat you with wooden racket, no sorings , full wooden racket as one in pickleball and i played this king of tennis fir years recteational and ny serve with wooden racket goes sometines surely 180km om hour. If you ever come to Bosnia, renember this threat
Hola, te sigo desde Argentina, me gustan mucho tus videos pero no entiendo nada del idioma, podrías hacerlos también en español latino para nosotros saber la parte teoríca? Muchas gracias.
it just the volleyer fake first and jump into middle. that just follow his momentum, the timming volleyer no choice, not that u said three option in this case.
Thanks for the post. Really helpful!❤
hope Karue didnt get a bagel in this game
He came back and won the 8 game pro set.
He lost 8-2 but had chances
I will confirm this is amazing topic!!!! Forget thinking about pronation. Just try with all your effort to chop through the ball with your frame “edge”. It won’t happen because you will naturally pronate. If you TRY to pronate, you may pronate too soon. Go to the ball on edge as long as possible without thinking about pronation. Ryan, great video!
Thanks for sharing your knowledge. Tomorrow I’m gonna try those tips. I’m pretty sure it’ll help.🙂
Incredible point with incredible explanation. Thank you coach!
Hey thanks so much!!
Your just analyzing one shot. The reason she had limited upper body rotation was because that shot was hit down the line. You make some good points but also a lot of jibber jabber in my opinion.
Ok thanks for commenting!
Coming from table tennis, I found this to be an interesting video as many tactical principles are common to both sports. Since there are many comments about how easy down-the-link shots are, I decided to bring in a perspective from a sport that uses much more spin than is common in tennis. At the higher level, there is so much spin/rotation on every ball that controlling a down-the-line shot, especially when it's hit with power (i.e. speed and spin) from cross-court is quite difficult. Even in singles, the pro players do exactly what this video is advocating. If you are playing at a lower level where the incoming ball isn't powerful, yeah you'll be able to hit down-the-line shots easily and your opponent won't have the footwork to play the next ball to your wide cross-court but when your opponent is hitting with power, you may be able to "guide" the ball down-the-line (and set up his cross-court winner) but it's a much higher-risk (not to mention higher-skill) shot to hit your own down-the-line winner. Therefore, at the higher level, it's better to play cross-court with power i.e. continue the rally and look for another opening rather than immediately try and win the point with a riskier shot.
Awesome tips!
Yes if you can read it early enough, it is more effective to change grip.
Karue at My Tennis HQ!! @mytennishq
I don’t know how many coaches don’t like you for giving so many top tips for free on UA-cam 😂😂😂
Everyone is free to make content and help the tennis community. I don’t see myself doing anything wrong.
@@2MinuteTennis you are doing good deed for sure 👍👍👍
I wish you would’ve had him the student swing one with the changes that would’ve made perfect sense I think
I wasn’t on the court with him. This was just from a video on UA-cam I came across of this player.

its like richard krajicek serve =D
I loved his serve.
best return serve tutorial❤
Thank you so much!
I thought when the left arm goes behind after the motion, like thiem or Murray, it was a signal of total body relaxation... 🤔
Best to not try it. Just tuck it against your body for best results. Thanks!
step 1: be 1.98m tall step 2: automatically hit every ball low to high step 3: profit
Huh?
@@2MinuteTennis well, Zwerev might not be your average player with his height. he has probably a way better position to each ball he hits. a lot of those shots would be way closer to my shoulder height it i don't want to hit super early or stand 5m back. of course, if the ball comes like that to me it's a great way to conceptualize how to hit heavy top spins.
Ok thanks!
Can the ryobi (Home Depot) battery also work with the proton?
Yes. That’s the same type of battery.
Very good video, thanks!
You forgot about the most important issue with Treys serve is that he steps on the line before hitting the serve lol. Im sure he is aware of it too and he dont care. Id call out a foot faulter thats like calling an in ball out all the time. 😂
That’ll be fixed with the front foot pivot
@2MinuteTennis let's hope so, that way he can actually start playing tennis.
Great. I hope these tips will help me fixing my THBH.
I’m not a pin point server, but great lesson. Best part…I watch all of Winners Only’s videos. Trey will likely implement it. Big serve just got bigger!
Ryan, thanks for the analysis. I've loved trey's journey. Interesting that the left foot rotation is the high leverage point here! Will that make a bigger difference than bringing his back foot up in line with his front foot, rather than alongside?
Correct. That’s how you fix the foot coming around to the side. You rotate the front foot and the back foot naturally tucks right in behind the left. Thanks so much!!!
Brilliant! Hope we can get an update from Trey.
both winston and trey are too weak in their baseline game to be 4.5
They’re both good players who are trying to improve. It’s not easy to play tennis on UA-cam in front of a lot of people.
Winston is a solid 4.5. Trey is 3.5-40
@@bmanbusee3812 agreed.
Rule of thumb #1 You are always worse than you think on the video #2 typical 4.5 look 4.0 on video . 4.0 look 3.5 on video and so forth . #3 anyone less than 5.0 looks terrible on video and hard to access their level unless you actually face them .
@@ST-ek6lf brilliantly written. Good job and thank you!
